In 2005, Debussy's complete correspondence was published by Gallimard in a large one-volume edition of more than 2,500 pages. Here, the late François Lesure and I put forth a highly detailed documentary record of Debussy's life and work in the form of his personal letters, which we edited in great detail. Some scholars, and we are among them, see this type of publication as the best possible kind of biography. [...]
