Abstract

Ernesto Rubin de Cervin Albrizzi (1936-2013) was a Venetian composer, teacher, cultural producer, liaison, and writer. This article provides a preliminary biographical sketch based on the examination of the archive, Fondo Rubin de Cervin, housed at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, and material from interviews with his closest friends. Shedding light on his early years and later activities, it reflects not only an active and dynamic composer but also a man of great culture with a multifaceted career, important professional connections, intellectual relationships, and multiple interests. This identifies him as an important figure in the cultural life of his time, both within Venice and beyond.
